Description:

Features shades of gray and brown with variable darker markings on a roughly textured skin. Its color can change to almost white as temperature changes.

Fun Facts:

Their gray color serves as camouflage within densely wooded areas. Their skin is able to assume most natural colors in which it comes to contact with helping it to blend in perfectly.

Tadpoles metamorphosize into froglets in six to eight weeks.

During hibernation, 80 percent of their body freezes and the eye becomes opaque as breathing and heartbeat are temporarily suspended.
