Come spend a Saturday with the Racine Zoo learning about animals. This year the Racine Zoo will be offering hands-on opportunities at the Zoo for children of all ages. All classes are age-appropriate and enrollment is limited. Children will have the opportunity to meet some of our animal residents up close, play games, and make educational art projects. All classes will be held in the Kiwanis Education Center located on the southwest corner of the Historic Main Building. Please enter through the blue door.

4 and 5- Year Old Classes
November 1, 2008 9:30-10:30 - A Day in the Life of a Bug
*One adult chaperone is required for each child enrolled in the 4 and 5- year old classes.
Each additional child or adult is the full price of the class.

A Day in the Life of a Bug
Nothing is more exciting than a cool bug! Bugs help us do many things. Come meet and learn about some very important bugs and work together to make your own bug!

Grades 1 and 2 Classes
November 15, 2008 9:30-11:00 - Who Lives Here?
*Adult participants as well as siblings present of any age will be charged the full price of the class.

Who Lives Here?
Explore the many places that animals live. Do they live in burrows, nests, or caves? Is their habitat a forest, desert or wetland? During this class you will meet some animals as well as play a game and make a craft to take home.

Grades 3 - 5 Classes
October 25, 2008 9:30-11:00 - Batty for Bats
*Adult participants as well as siblings present of any age will be charged the full price of the class.

Batty for Bats
Do bats really suck blood? Do they all have rabies? Come learn about the favorite foods of different bats and shed some light on a few rather batty misunderstandings.

Registration
All Critter Class participants must pre-register by calling (262) 636-9580 or by e-mailing education@racinezoo.org. Participants must be registered for the appropriate age group. The maximum number of students per class is 25 and the minimum is 10. Full payment and a completed registration form are required to hold your space for the class. No refunds will be given for the class except if the Racine Zoo cancels the class. Participants will be notified one week before the class, should the Racine Zoo cancel the class.
